Sam had it all—six-figure salary, beautiful condo in New York City, adult children that had grown up to be happy. But since his wife Sarah passed away, he decided to give it all up to be an artist and move to El Salvador. Sam and Sarah had served in the Peace Corps in El Salvador when they met. They fell in love with the country and each other. Sam felt closer to his wife’s spirit in this sunny, tropical country. And it was great to live by the beach again, since Sam was an avid surfer—El Salvador had great surfing waves. Now instead of hustling on Wall Street, he was painting original works and making pottery.
