fffc advent calendars, day 2
Whenever they held one of these reunions, Chisato and Leon would be in charge of the cooking. Leon would make the main meal, usually something with fish and vegetables, while Chisato sorted out the drinks and desserts. Even on an alien planet, she had retained the ability to track down the most expensive green teas and would brew them perfectly, often making a full ceremony out of it. She could bake shortcake and chocolate crepes, Rena and Precis' favourite foods respectively. Ironically, the two best chefs on the party did not particularly like any of the fancy food they were asked to prepare. Leon was obsessed with fresh carrot juice and Chisato insisted that she didn't really have a favourite food, she was fine with whatever. Today was close to the Winter Festival of Tria, so the two of them had made a festive meal. Leon roasted a whole rabbit, which especially pleased Celine. Chisato had blended a perfect winter tea, strong and black with a mix of spices, then baked some gingerbread men to go with them. Later they would take their annual trip up to the Cave of Trials, where the evil winter spirit known as 'Santa' was said to become benevolent enough for one day to trade back, usually at extortionate prices, the rare treasures he took from the corpses of the adventurers he had slain, long ago, before the Cave had been sealed, deemed not worth the risk. Something they had done had opened it again so it was their duty to clear it out, and when better than the day that Santa was in town?
