Mist (Picture #29) -- original
Title: Mist
Fandom: original
Character: original
Length: 106
Rating: G
The others were rousing from their beds, and minutes later, in silence, they were back outside. In early morning mist, not noontide. How much better it would be if they had a clock and could see through the enchantment to know the time. She looked down the path. It was lined with a fence to one side, a palisade of stakes that gave her no view beyond, and towering patriarchal trees to the other, all suffused with orange light from the dawn and the thick mist. Dead leaves, still red and gold, littered the way.
She sniffed the air. Yes, it was mist, and not smoke.
