You had to look carefully to see the problem. At the circular bar, the waitress still took orders. And at first glance, you would not think much of the way that every single person there wore a pack. It was not much, nothing more than a college student would carry, and those ordering were the right age.
It was outside that made Rosalie shudder. Someone ate fire before the door. Other people played in a band of a saxophone, a double bass, and a kazoo as people cavorted in rags, their faces painted like clowns'.
Living in the face of disaster was no excuse to go mad.
