Title: The Speak-Easy
Fandom: original
Character: original
Length: 112
Rating: G
There was a mural on the wall of the speak-easy. A woman in black and white, her cloche hat snow white on black hair, her dress -- not quite reaching her knees -- a harlequin of black and white diamonds -- her hands covered with black gloves and her legs with black stockings, and her face with a porcelain mask of white, its smug smile and eyebrows picked out in black.
And then, as if the staring had made her realize that she were being watched, she shrugged, smiled a little, and stepped off the wall.
Artemise, queasy, looked with care to confirm it was still a mask, and still of porcelain.
